“Final Exam – Juxtapose/Street Corner – Extra Credit - Question 2”

Madison and State is one of the first and oldest streets in Chicago. It's literally the heart of the city, separating the north from the south, and the east from the west.  Over the past 100 or so years Madison and State Street has seen more than a few changes. At the turn of the century during the 1900's Carson Pirie Scott was built. It was a wholesale store of the latest fashion during that time. In 2007 after 107years it closed its doors for good but the building remained and is now deemed a historical landmark. So many stores were built on Madison and State. It was known as the city haven for teen and young adult fashion. Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe were the number 1 stores on that street until 2017. With a new sneaker store and Target on that street its become a shopper's paradise.
